The Minns Labor Government will deliver a record $9 billion over four years for school infrastructure in the 2025-26 Budget — continuing the work of rebuilding public education in NSW.

This investment in our future includes $2.6 billion that will be spent over the coming financial year alone, to deliver our record pipeline of new and upgraded schools to support growing communities across NSW.

Hornsby High School - Major Upgrades

As part of the NSW Government’s plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Budget is delivering record education funding, including $9 billion for new and upgraded schools. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.

The upgrade of Hornsby High School will ensure it is fit-for-purpose to support co-education from 2026. The upgrade will include:

  • upgraded food technology classrooms
  • A new covered learning area (COLA)
  • a new girls clinic and boys clinic
  • a new dance studio
  • new toilet and changeroom facilities
  • new outdoor pavilions, shade structures and seating
  • new signage
  • upgraded IT and administration systems
