Parent portal
At Hornsby High School we use parent portal apps to make communication and admin easier for families. These tools help you:
- make payments quickly and securely
- view academic reports
- stay up to date with school events
- record absences.
Our parent portal apps
Sentral
For student attendance matters, booking parent and teacher interviews and accessing academic reports.
Log-in to the Sentral Parent Portal or:
- Download Sentral on Google Play
- Download Sentral on the Apple Store
All Year 7 parents will be sent an email with their unique access key to the Sentral Parent Portal in the first week of their child's schooling.
School Bytes
For making payments, viewing financial records and giving parental consent for school events.
Log-in to the School Bytes Parent Portal or:
- Download School Bytes on Google Play
- Download School Bytes on the Apple Store
The School Bytes Parent Portal should automatically link your child if the email on your School Bytes account matches the one on our school records.
Google Classroom
Parents/carers can receive email summaries of your child's work and progress in a class. These summaries will contain:
- Missing work — Work not turned in when the summary was sent.
- Upcoming work — Work that’s due today, tomorrow or the upcoming week.
- Class activities — Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers.
Parents/carers must be manually added to your child's Google Classroom. Once this is completed for one class, you will need to be invited to each of your child's Google Classroom by the class teacher.
